Course Overview

Educators, teachers and other health professionals are often best placed to observe when a child may need additional supports to enhance their development, but these conversations with parents can be very challenging.

This seminar is aimed at supporting teachers and educators to consider some of the steps in having a challenging conversation with parents or carers about their child.

  • Participants will reflect on what conversations they find are challenging.
  • Participants will explore a framework that looks at how parents adapt to having a child with additional needs.
  • Participants will gain fundamental skills in strengths based practice.
  • Participants will explore a framework for conducting challengingconversations.
