Noah's Ark siblings receive bikes
On Wednesday 2 December, three Noah?s Ark siblings each received a new bike, thanks to Corporate Challenge.
Staff at the Hoppers Crossing branch were approached by Corporate Challenge, who were running a team building exercise for the corporate office of Goodyear and Dunlop Tyres (ANZ). Staff from Goodyear and Dunlop Tyres (ANZ) divided into three teams and completed a series of tasks and challenges in order to earn the pieces of their bike. Once the bikes were complete, each team was made aware that their bike will be donated to a local not-for-profit group working with children.
On this occasion, the challenge was held at the Mansion Hotel in Werribee. ECIS staff at the Hoppers Crossing branch were thrilled to choose two families who had siblings able to accept the gift of a bike. Following a short talk about the work of Noah?s Ark from ECIS Tarneit Team Leader Robyn Berrie, both families were presented with a bike, which came as a surprise to the children involved. Staff from Goodyear and Dunlop then joined the families for afternoon tea. The generosity of the firm continued when they provided both families with maxi taxi vouchers to transport the children and their new bikes home safely.
It was a wonderful opportunity for our families to share the challenges and rewards of growing up with a sibling affected by developmental delay or disability. Thanks must go to Corporate Challenge and Goodyear and Dunlop Tyres (ANZ) for their support. We would also like to thank the generosity of our families in sharing their stories and allowing Noah?s Ark to be a part of their lives.
