MACA (Mobility and Accessibility for Children in Australia Inc) is a new Australian not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting and advocating for the right to safe and accessible transport for children with disability and medical conditions. Their vision is for every Australian child to have access to safe and equitable transport, regardless of circumstance.
For the first time ever in Australia, allied health professionals, families and organisations can now access a ‘one stop’ evidence-informed resource for the safe transport of children with disabilities and medical conditions in motor vehicles.
Funded by the Australian Government Department of Social Services, the MACA website has been informed by nearly two years of research, advocacy, policy development and, importantly – the lived experience of families.
Allied health professionals, families and organisations will find evidence-based and easily accessible information to help them confidently make decisions about children’s vehicle transport requirements.
