Prior to joining Noah’s Ark in 2000, John spent the previous 25 years working to reduce enduring disadvantage, focusing on poverty issues. He is a keen advocate for better services and educational outcomes for children with disabilities and their families. He is a fellow of the Williamson Community Leadership Program and has completed the Strategic Perspectives in Non-profit Management at Harvard Business School.

John is the co-author of two books, The Key Worker, a resource for ECI professionals and Participating and Belonging: Inclusion in Practice a resource for Early Childhood Education and Care services and consultants on including children with disabilities.

One of John’s children has a disability, which keeps him focussed on the daily realities of all people participating meaningfully in the community. He is currently a member of the Victorian Disability Advisory Council and the Victorian National Disability Insurance Scheme Implementation Taskforce.
