About this Activity
Help your child learn to ride a bike! We work with your child to help them learn to ride a bike independently.
We offer our Ready to Pedal groups to practice with peers, or provide intensive individual support on a one-to-one basis.
Parent Involvement
Parents/Carers are integral partners in this program and will be required to always participate with their child.
To get the most out of this group you need to...
- Have access to a bicycle or tricycle in good working order, and of an appropriate size
- Wear a securely fitted helmet
- Get on and off your bike by yourself, or with minimal support
- Sit on the bike seat unsupported
- Follow some simple instructions like “stop” and “go”.
Outcomes:
- Increased confidence to engage in bike riding as a family and in the community.
- Increased confidence in bike skills including turning, breaking, and safety around obstacles/other riders.
- Increased knowledge for parents/carers on how to support their child to learn to ride their bike.
- Increased confidence and skills in social interactions, and communication.
- Increased skills in turn taking, following instructions and staying on task.
What does the program include?
3-Day Intensive: Foundation Group
- 1-hour Individual Assessment
- 3 Group Sessions of 2 hrs each
- 3.5 Preparation/Reporting hours (non Face-to-Face)

- 6 Group Sessions of 1.5hrs each
- 5.5 Preparation/Reporting hours
