This face-to-face course has been designed in Australia specifically for professionals who are working in Early Child Intervention (ECI) under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). This one day course offers a unique opportunity to look at the current research in a small group learning environment and reflect on the role of the Key Worker in a changing environment.

The RBI is an integral tool for working with families and children in ECI. It’s designed to establish a positive relationship with the family, gather information about child and family needs and develop a list of functional outcomes through a semi-structured interview about the child and family’s daily routines. Children with poor language and social skills may have difficulty initiating and maintaining interactions with their peers and may find themselves excluded and socially isolated. This workshop is for professionals working one-on-one with parents. The program covers 7 topics that are central to supporting attachment from birth to 3. This program is designed to be highly flexible, so that you can use the activities with individual families in a variety of different service and cultural contexts. Download the course flyer.

This two day workshop qualifies participants to deliver the Make the Connection® 0-1 (MTC 0-1) program in their community. MTC 0-1 is a 9-week group program in which parents and their babies attend together. Program sessions combine hands-on practice with reflection, parent support and videotaping. Each session includes a facilitated parent-baby time, where parents are guided to focus on one of the program messages, while they sing and play with their baby. Download the course flyer.

This one day advanced workshop qualifies participants to deliver MTC 1-2 in their community. MTC 1-2 is a 9-week group program designed to strengthen the parent-child relationship during the pivotal second year when toddlers start seeking autonomy. The themes of the baby program are continued, with the inclusion of topics that are relevant for the toddler age. Download the course flyer.

The Family Partnerships Foundation Course is an innovative approach based on an explicit model of the helping process that demonstrates how specific helper qualities and skills, when used in partnership, enable parents and families to overcome their difficulties, build strengths and resilience and fulfil their goals more effectively.
